These are oral contraception that uses hormones to prevent pregnancy. It prevents pregnancy but is effective against STDs.

There are various kinds of pills. Progestin-only pill is also known as the mini pill, which is recommended when you are breastfeeding

This pill contains a combination of estrogen and progestin. It is the most commonly prescribed pill.

It is 99% effective for preventing pregnancy. However forgetting to take the pill as prescribed may increase your chances of pregnancy.

​Side Effects​

Some of the common side effects include nausea, headaches, moodiness, breast tenderness, and spotting between periods.
