Bavencio Injection is a medicine used for treatment of urinary bladder cancer that has metastasized (spread to other parts) or has reached the advanced stage in adults and children aged above 12 years.

It restores those immune responses in the body that stop cancer growth. Bavencio Injection is given as an injection by a healthcare professional.

For it to be effective, complete the course of the medicine and do not discontinue even if you get better until the course is completed.

Some common side effects of this medicine include fatigue, nausea, diarrhea, decreased appetite, and muscle pain amongst others. These are usually mild and go away with time. However, if they persist or get worse, let the doctor know.

Before receiving the medicine, you should let your doctor if you have ever had an allergic reaction to any medicine. Also tell your doctor if you have any problems with your heart, kidneys, or liver.

Functionality of Bavencio Injection

Bavencio Injection is a type of immunotherapy. It activates the body's immune system to fight cancer cells. Avelumab targets and blocks a protein (PD-L1) found on the surface of certain immune cells. Blocking PD-L1 activates the immune cells to find and kill cancer cells.
