SummaryHave you ever had a sudden, sharp pain in one spot but couldn't quite put it into words? If that sounds familiar, read on to discover what might be behind it.
Have you ever experienced a sharp pain in a particular part of your body, but you are just unable to describe it? Did you feel that it was too weird or embarrassing to talk to your friends about it? Have these aches you left puzzled? Wondering how can this part of your body even hurt?
If the answer to all these questions is "Yes," then this might help you.
Unusual Aches
These are unfamiliar aches that occur in our bodies. Instances are a finger cramp, nostril ache, muscle cramps at awkward body parts, hair pain, and other such instances.
Finger Cramping
If you have ever attempted an exam, written straight for three hours, you must have experienced a finger cramp. Experts suggest that it may be a sign of a "trigger finger".
A finger cramp happens when the tendons that help flex your fingers and thumb are inflamed. This can lead to stiffness in your finger. Usually, it is harmless, however, if the pain recurs or lasts for an entire day, it may create problems.
Other reasons could also be continuous typing on phones and laptops.
To avoid the pain, try taking breaks at regular intervals. You can also try easy wrist or finger exercises. Rotate your wrists and flex your fingers so your muscles are regularly stretched and the tension in relieved.
Toe Ache
If you have hit your toe which led to your toe nail curl inwards, it may lead to toe pain. Other reasons of toe pain could be tight footwear, not allowing enough space for your toes.
Nostril Ache
"Is it sinus?" This is the most common thought that comes to everyone's mind. But not necessarily. If your pain is limited to just one nostril without an accompanying headache, it might mean that your nose has a boil or there is a foreign particle present inside your nostril.
Avoid putting foreign objects in your nostril, this includes an earbud for cleaning. Use plain water to rinse it. If you see a boil in your nose, see your doctor immediately and do not prick it.
Ear Pain
If you feel ear pain, it might be because you are using your earphones often. Constant usage can lead to the accumulation of ear wax. When not in use, dust sits on the earphones and it will be reinserted in your ears causing infection.
Clean your earphones regularly. You can also consider switching to headphones to avoid direct contact with the inner ear.
Awkward Muscle Cramp
Sometimes we sit in awkward positions, or what is commonly known as a "slouchy back," which can be taken care by stretches. However, there are times when awkward parts of our body cramps, like your elbow, armpit or thigh joints. This could be because there is a lack of water in our bodies.
Hair Pain
As awkward as it may sound, it is a common pain. This happens when your scalp is too dry and the hair follicles too become dry and fragile. This makes your roots sensitive to touch, causes pain and leads to hair fall.
To prevent this, you can oil your hair. See a dermatologist to know more about the kind of hair-care schedule you should follow.
Another hair-related pain can be due to shaving. This leaves minor cuts which can get infected when they are exposed to sweat or are rubbed against your clothes.
To prevent this, wear loose clothes right after you shave. Use good-quality razors and follow an after-shave care.
Breast Pain
If you are on your period, then experiencing breast tenderness, sensitive nipples or sore breasts are just few of the common side effects of hormonal fluctuations of the menstrual cycle.
However, if you are experiencing shooting pain, then your bra is to be blamed. Ill-fitted bras can lead to discomfort as it dig into breast tissues or fail to provide the required support. Do visit your doctor if you experience this.
Wear fitted lingerie and keep your sizes updated.
