SummaryBlending essential oils involves mixing various aromas to enhance skin health and mood. Combine lemongrass, patchouli, and lavender for skin rejuvenation, or bergamot and lavender to reduce stress and frustration.
Blending essential oils is a creative and therapeutic process especially for an aromatherapist. You can be your creative best while blending some beautiful aromas together. I have created a range of signature blended essential oils for retail products.
Although we have many talented aromatherapists in the world who study this wonderful world of art of aromatherapy for a variety of reasons such as natural perfumery, to treat the physical body medicinally, to promote overall well-being of an individual or to create healthier skin cosmetically, let me tell you about a few things about essential oils.
Essential oils are very potent, and it is advisable not to use them directly onto your skin. They become safe when they are blended with any base oil or carrier oil.
You need to understand the properties of each oil. For instance, spice oils like cinnamon, cardamom are strong aphrodisiacs and are best used as spices. Using them as essential oil is not recommended since they can be very potent.
Balance the aroma is also essential especially when you are blending in two or more aromas together. It is important that the oils that pick for your blends complement each other in terms of aroma and benefits.
Fragrances are highly sensitive. While some people find the aroma of jasmine calming, others may find it overpowering. Test different oils to understand what resonates with you before creating your own blends.

Blended Oils for Skin

Combine a few 5-10 drops of lemongrass, patchouli, lavender, and jasmine essential oils with apricot and argan oils. This creates a beautiful blend that delicately renews the skin and reveals a youthful glow. It also helps reduce visible signs of aging and reduces inflammation. You can use this blend oil regularly on your skin every morning and night.
Mix jojoba oil with a few drops of tea tree, juniper berry and mint essential oils. This blend prevents acne, pimples, and balances the sebum level. It also reduces inflammation and blackheads. Apply 4-5 drops of this oil onto your clean face and neck.

Blended Oils for Mood

Mix a few drops of bergamot, lavender and lemon essential oils with any carrier oil of your choice. This blend helps reduce anger and frustration. You can put this oil in a diffuser and keep it in your room.
Essential oil that can bring light into depression and joy into glumness are orange, basil, jasmine and rose. Finding the joy within will help create the love around you. You can put a few drops of this blended oil in your bathwater to make you feel relaxed and stress free.
You can apply this blended on your pressure points such as wrists, back of the ear or use this as a perfume to enhance your mood and feel good.
